Dr. Jamel Major

Dr. Jamel Major is a Training Specialist with Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC. He is responsible for training physicians and nurses as well as providing frontline support for these professionals.

Dr. Major previously worked as a Career Specialist with the University of Memphis (TN), where he provided career advising and job and internship opportunities for communication and humanities students. Dr. Major is passionate about education and is driven to help students overcome barriers that impact their learning. He believes that student success is created through meaningful relationships. Dr. Major also served as Director of Media and Public Relations for the University. 

Prior to that, he was a Marketing-Media Coordinator for Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. 

Dr. Major has also worked as a reporter for WMC TV 5 in Memphis, TN; a bureau chief for WVTM, NBC 13 in Birmingham, AL; investigative reporter and anchor for WDAM TV in Hattiesburg, MS; and a producer for News 14 Carolina in Raleigh, NC.

Dr. Major earned his doctorate in Education from the University of Memphis.
