D.A.T.S.M.O.M. stresses the importance of parents effectively communicating their child’s condition and needs to those who are responsible for helping them navigate through life and their communities.
Our Spectrum Safety Identification Program is designed to give you and your child tools for effective communication. This free Spectrum ID card details your child’s condition and potential behaviors he or she may demonstrate in an emergency situation. You may choose to keep it in your vehicle glove compartment, in the event you all are involved in a crash. Stick your child’s Spectrum ID in his or her back pocket as you all head out the door to the movies, airport, school, family event or day at the park. If your child wanders off or elopes, it could be the lifeline to their safe return! By completing and submitting this form, you understand the free ID cards are intended for persons diagnosed with Autism.
You will receive two cards: one for the child to keep on his or her person and one for the caretaker. Your request will be processed within 10-14 business days and mailed to the address you provide below. The Spectrum Safety Identification Program is a part of our Alabama Autism Safety Initiative.
The same information listed on the sample ID above (please click link for full size version) will be placed on your card, unless otherwise noted below.
